“My mentoring journey with Iain began with a typical question:
‘tell me about your business’.
However, the conversations that followed were not at all typical and were some of the most engaging and interesting I have had about my start-up. During my mentoring sessions with Iain, we have delved into my vision for the company and how I want our customers to feel when using our product. These are perspectives I had never really considered before, and initially, I didn't have answers to his questions.
Iain introduced me to new ideas, such as branding development and customer personas, which were concepts I was previously unaware of. Understanding these ideas has allowed me to focus on aspects of the business that I had previously neglected.
As an engineer, my primary focus has always been on the product and the operational side of the business. But Iain has broadened my perspective, encouraging me to also consider the business from the customers' point of view.”
